Castiglione del Lago
The owner of these rental apartments lives in the renovated 18th century farmhouse. The two rental apartments in the farmhouse provide a perfect holiday base in a central location of Italy. Ideal for exploring the many hilltop towns in the area including Cortona - famous for arts, crafts and its music festivals - and the more famous towns and cities of Florence, Siena. Perugia and Arezzo, all of which are within easy reach. The area is famous for its wines and gastronomic treats.
THE HOLIDAY RENTAL APARTMENTS
The farm is in a vineyard setting, with surrounding fields of sunflowers and arable crops. Two apartments are available for rentals.
Both apartments have a TV with video and DVD players, and iron, ironing board plus a fan. They also have their own patio and seating for meals alfresco with a barbecue. Two bicycles are also available for guest usage and there is a swimming pool for cooling off afterwards.
La Mimosa
Smaller Apartment La Mimosa is a spacious ground floor apartment that is suitable for wheelchair access. Its twin/double bedroom can sleep 2, plus a cot for a small child. An additional adult or two children can be accommodated in comfort on the sofa bed in the living room. has a twin/double bed. The shower room includes the wc. and basin. The Dining/kitchen areas is equipped with an oven, hob, fridge and sink. The apartment features original wood beamed ceilings.
La Stufa
Apartment La Stufa is located in what was once the tobacco drying tower. It's large ground floor living areas include a lounge with a sofa bed and a wrought iron day bed. The kitchen and dining areas is equipped with oven, hob, fridge/freeze and a washing machine. The main twin/double bedroom on the first floor has its own shower room with wc. The second double bedroom has a separate shower room with wc. A cot is available.
CORTONA AND NEARBY ATTRACTIONS
Medieval hill-top town of Cortona
The nearby town of Cortona is inland on the Eastern boundary of Tuscany. The area is a major cultural centre for the arts and history. It is also an area of outstanding natural beauty. Montepulciano is also nearby, and is famous for its Vino Nobile. Coffee and cake is recommended in the Art Nouveau Cafe Poliziano.

Lake Trasimeno in Umbria is a 15 minute drive away and boat trips to the islands of of this large lake are most enjoyable. Hannibal defeated the Romans here in 217 BC - as always in Italy, history is all around you. Paciano a few miles to the South was voted one of the eight 'most beautiful villages in Italy' and after wandering its streets, a lunch at 'La Loggetta' is recommended. Deruta is famous for its uniquely designed ceramics.
Numerous activities are on offer at Lake Trasimeno and in the vicinity including two sailing schools, wind-surfing, trekking, cycle paths, mountain-bike trails, nature trails, art touring routes, wine touring routes, fishing trips, rowing boat hire, ballooning (subject to favourable weather conditions).

A welcome food package is provided on arrival, including a bottle of the local wine. The owners can also provide an airport pick-up service if you wish to hire a car locally. They are also happy to arrange a personalised sightseeing tours, including walks in the surrounding countryside. Telephone, fax, email and Internet services can also be provided on request.

From 450 - 950 euros per week. Please enquire about availability for your dates and costing.The price includes a final cleaning, but additional cleaning can be undertaken for a small cost. Bed linen is changed weekly, and towels and tea towels twice weekly. Central heating is available, when required, through a metered fuel supplement.
