The Bed and Breakfast accommodation consists of 5 rooms and is located in a very central position between the Guinigi Tower and the famous square - the Roman Anfitheatre - just a short walk from the main street Via Fillungo.

One of the best ways of exploring Lucca is by bicycle, and bike rental and storage is available at the B&B.

HOW TO GET TO THE B&B IN LUCCA

The B&B is a short walk from the railway station and an excellent shuttle bus service. It can also be reached by car, motorbike and bike (private parking is available for an additional charge). There are six gates that lead off the ring road into the walled centre of Lucca, with Porta S. Maria and Porta Elisa being the closest to the B&B.

The Nearest airport is Pisa, which is a 30 minute train journey and 20 km by car. Florence is 60km and takes about 1.5 hours by train.

LOCATION

The historic town of Lucca is a jewel in Tuscany that captivates all who visit. Encircled by walls and centred on the foundations of a Roman amphitheatre, with its narrow Italian streets with designer shops, restaurants and cafes are a real treat to explore.

Lucca is bounded by ancient city walls that completely encircle the old town. Once home to rich merchants, Lucca is a centre of culture and architecture that betters more well known tourist destinations such as Florence and Siena, in many visitors opinion. Elegant squares, monuments and churches abound, and the 16th century walls are set in gardens that are host to the annual Murabilia Mura in fiore ("Walls in Flower") garden show.

The birth place of Puccini is also another reason why opera lovers flock to Lucca - The Puccini Opera Festival is held in the open to cerebrate this famous Lucchesian.

While Puccini is Lucca's most famous son - his birthplace in Corte San Lorenzo is now a museum - Lucca is also the birthplace of other great musicians and composers such as Boccherini, Luporini and Catalani. Great operas like La Boheme, Madame Butterfly, Turandot float in the air.
