In an area of breathtaking natural beauty, this lovingly restored stone cottage is set on the edge of the picturesque village of Castello di Comano.
La Casetta Amato is nestled beside a mountain stream, with a medieval footbridge providing access to the centre of the village. The cottage has been renovated to a high standard, whilst preserving its original charm and character, and is the idyllic place to relax and unwind.
VILLA FOR RENT IN TUSCANY
Built originally as a flour mill in 1736, the owners have restored the cottage, keeping its rustic character by retaining many of the original features that include the terracotta and stone-flagged floors, wood-beamed ceilings and some of the exposed stone walls.
The cottage is entered through old chestnut doors down stone steps into the large well-equipped kitchen. This homely kitchen has a dining table and chairs and the central feature is its stone fireplace that provides charm in the summer and warmth in the winter when the central heating is not required. It is equipped with an oven, hob and washing machine.
French doors take you onto the sunny terrace overhanging the mountain stream, with a view up to the castle and hills beyond.
An arched doorway leads you through to the cosy living room which was once the chestnut drying room. Furnished with a comfortable sofa bed, television for videos, stereo with CD player and a video library should you wish to relax at home.
Double doors lead out from the living room onto the delightful flower filled terrace - perfect for al fresco dining.
To help you make the most of your stay at La Casetta Amato we have provided books, games, tennis rackets and mountain bikes to add to your enjoyment. There is also an information pack to help you plan your days.

From the kitchen, a steep staircase take you up to the attractive shower room and to a bright and airy double bedroom, with pretty views of the castle and hills from its windows.
LOCATION
Excellent restaurants and a hotel swimming pool are only a short walk away and the stunning Ligurian coastline is a 40 min drive. Set right on the edge of the stunning ‘Parco dei Cento Laghi’ the area is a heaven for those who love walking.
Endless opportunities abound to enjoy the peaceful countryside, from leisurely strolls to energetic hikes. Picnics in the hills, mountain biking, swimming in the clear river pools, fishing, or trekking on horse back are all on your door step, there is something here for everyone.
The cultural centres of Florence, Lucca, Pisa and Genoa are also all within an easy drive. Visit the beautiful stretch of coastline with its rocky coves and sandy beaches known as the Bay of Poets made famous by Byron and Shelley. The Cinque Terre is a collection of five fishing villages that cling to the Ligurian cliffs and can be reached by boat from Lerici. With all this close at hand, La Casetta Amato is the perfect place in which to enjoy your unique experience of Lunigiana.

How to get here
Lunigiana is about 850 miles from Calais. The drive takes approximately 14 hours or so and you may wish to take an overnight stop on the way. We can provide you with detailed routes if required. Pisa airport is about an hour away by car, whilst Genoa is a little further. Other airports, such as Milan, Bologna and Florence are also possibilities and within a two hour drive.
